"All The King's Men" - 1997 - Complete series vol. 1-6

Postby OnStage55 » Fri Jan 06, 2017 4:03 pm

Recently uploaded on Youtube December 28, 2016.

The Complete series vol. 1-6 with Memphis Mafia members Red & Sonny West, Billy Smith, Marty Lacker & Lamar Fike.

I found this all to be very interesting and informative with insight into Elvis life and his inner circle from the 5 men who were there for it all.
If you have not seen this before it's well worth watching, it's like reading a book that you can't put down by the people who lived it.

Thanks Onstage - I look forward to watching all of these, I've only watched snippets that were available via Youtube for free.

I am wondering, John, if Jordan can upload videos, such as these, onto this site for archive, before they are removed due to Copyright restrictions on Youtube?

:D

I'm making my way through and enjoying it, too.

Such a shame that such a domino effect happened from different directions, and Elvis was in the middle, or, on the other end of it.

Elvis had the right thinking; however, one of his bad thoughts was that he was going to die young, I wish he didn't have that thought.

I did notice that when Marty recalled some stories early in the piece, the camera switched to the look on Billy's face and he seemed a bit pained to me, and didn't agree with Marty.

What have you come away with, after watching, Elvislady?

I still have more to watch.

I don't know. I suspect that it would take up too much room. My suggestion is that you should download anything you'd like to keep. There's a lovely programme called Free Studio which will do it.

Thanks, John, very nice of you. :D :D :D

I was thinking of everyone and future reference - we can all download now, if we wish.

Marty Lacker at 2.45 on "All The King's Men", said that after the visit with Elvis and The Beatles, when he, Jerry, Billy and Richard Dawson visited The Beatles the next day, John Lennon said that they were very happy to meet with Elvis, Marty said that John Lennon said, "We get these calls from people like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and they want to come over here and we know that they don't like us, they want to come over here as they know we've got all the girls".

Marty also said that Elvis made the same comment at another time, in relation to Frank Sinatra.

Ohh dear

Yes, just noticed Billy's reaction at 2:58:00 - as well as Red and Sonny (their arms were crossed). Red, Sonny and Billy prefer the positive. Lamar isn't the most complimentary, either.

Good on Red, Sonny and Billy.
