The controversial decision made by the new Chancellor of the Exchequer - Rachel Reeves, to limit the Winter Fuel Allowance
to only those on benefits, is too drastic by far.

Much better to limit the recipients to those who rely on just the State Pension.

The others who, like me, have a works pension in addition, are less in need of it.

There are lots of things that need changing to right the UK economy, but it's a pity that the new Labour Government
is hitting on the elderly & poor [so far] when it's the wealthy who have been the beneficiaries over the last 14 years.

Let's hope the October budget sees some moves in the right direction.

Hope the 'raised funds' were greater than the cost of the repairs to the square !

I thought it was a bit low when I went there in the 80s. There was water on all the roads. They had to use gondolas to get around.

Mick Jagger had a relationship with Marsha Hunt [No.52 above] & she had a daughter, Karis with him.
The Rolling Stones song Brown Sugar was inspired by her.

Why no picture of the 'nude bit' from the show ?
Well, they seem to be kinda hard-to-come-by for some reason...

The photographer who took the photos developed his film of the nude scenes, only to discover the negatives were over exposed.

Since I never played Elvis' LP's anymore because I have all music on CD, I decided to sell my LP collection as well as music books, books about Elvis and books about Rotterdam.
The money received I donated to Stichting Zwerfkatten Rijnmond, the cat shelter. In exchange I asked them to place a sign with "It's Elvis Time", the Dutch fanclub since 1962 in the area where cats are housed until they can be placed with a family or sent back into the wild after being neutered.
I paid enough for the sign to be there for the next 5 years. Also it will be in their magazine which is sent out to people who donated twice a year.
Here is me pointing at the sign above me plus a photo of the area..

The only books I kept are "How RCA brought Elvis to Europe" and "Elvis on record" because these books show all different record labels and information.

Well done yin yang that's great how you have helped out the cat shelter. They must be very grateful for your generosity.

They were indeed grateful.
It broke my heart to see the cats present trying to get my attention when they saw movement.
Sometimes they get a cat, sometimes a mother cat with kittens.
Photo's show one big cage with mother cat and her 5 kittens.

That's very cool, Yin Yang!!!
In the Mandarin speaking world, Elvis is known as
Mao Wang. 猫王, literally meaning CAT KING.

Aww, how sad I would want to take them all home. It looks beautifully clean and looked after I must say.
