R.I.P. Judith Durham

Postby John » Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:13 am

Sadly, Judith Durham has passed away as a result of a long chronic illness with lung disease.

I have to admit I wasn't that familiar with The Seekers; also, strangely enough, I don't really find access to their music. But to hear Judith Durham sing solo... I'm not ashamed to admit that her following account of a well known song brought tears to my eyes like only one other certain someone has managed it so far:

Beautiful voice... R.I.P.

RIP Judith Durham, you will always be remembered fondly in my memories. The first song I ever sang in Public, a boarding school concert in 66, accompanied with two others, who lost their voice with sheer nervousness, was "A world of our own" inspired by Judith's vocals ....never knew her name till much later.

RIP. She had a wonderful and unique voice. The Seekers are still legends in Australia.
