Not hugely, but the Welcome Back show was quite important.
The Sinatra family and Elvis connections fascinate me, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra is one most Elvis fans forget.
That is a very indirect connection. I don't think "old blue eyes" had any influence there, in fact in 1956 it would probably have been "let the boy appear on the show and let him fall flat on his face".
I think the word is tenuous , but it’s a connection none the less.
