Spooky - a bit. I came up with the same description a few days ago, John.

She has one of the most versatile voices I've ever come across and that sits upon its sheer richness, texture, range and tonal quality. In fact, I don't have adequate words ("All the words that I'll ever know, still could not say"). Her delivery of each song is so infectious or, in the more serious ones, so believable - a bit like Elvis.

What other woman could sing Ring Of Fire ? - and then there's Sukiyaki, sung a capella in Japanese !!

I agree. I reckon she could be very successful, but she doesn't seem to want to progress from where she is. She does (did) live performances with audiences in attendance, but I guess that's all put to one side for the moment.

I thought that "groove" (groovy) was from the 1970's or so; however, (I love Facebook for this) the session musicians, from the 1970's, use this terminology up until today, when referring to really good musicians. I like the term, for me, it is all encompassing and a fun term used by professional musicians.

I would like to suggest that perhaps Sayaka may be trying to build her audience to make her living from Youtube.

The reason I say this, there is a gardening Youtube channel I watch, (plus there are many others) the couple on this channel make enough money to live very nicely, together, at home, with their children, while humbly and jokingly, planning for capital investments in the future. Good on them.
