Postby Private Presley » Thu Sep 22, 2016 2:06 am

Not the King on Screen, but Jerry Lee Lewis with a rocking version of "Mystery Train."

Oh YES Private Presley...but NOT the ORIGINAL (don't mean orig. Junior Parker version)1969. The real Train steams and rolls in Las Vegas, Nev from 07/31 to 08/28, 1969, all the way...with respect, and Jerrys short not so friendley speech about Elvis' Live Engagement 08/1969...oh boy, but a nice piece of one of the Killers better performances, with respect and thankfully, Matt

Wasn't this from Aigust 1969? And doesn't Jerry mention that he had recently seen Elvis in Vegas?

Never realised Jerry Lee could perform standing up, let alone playing the guitar !

Great stuff !

Go to your room. You haven't been paying attention then. It's been doing the rounds for a long time, may have even been on here, or TMMB.

Have a lie down then. Ask your visitor to bring the coffee. (that's another joke)

It's September 13, 1969 - Toronto Rock & Roll Revival.

Some of the performances were filmed and turned into "Sweet Toronto" by D. A. Pennebaker

The above footage is an outtake, as the original film featured just one JLL song - "Hound Dog".

I wish they had filmed Gene Vincent's performance that day.
