I hate it when they steamroller over everything with no respect for historic locations or details.

I found this on Google Street View.

Where would the second photo fit here ?

Going through the columns, & looking down the 'tunnel', you'd see the entrance with the Borough Market - Chartered 1268 sign above.

Grandparents do try to pass on the wisdom of their experience to the younger generation.

When one of my granddaughters lost her job, I advised her to 'sign on' in order to get the unemployment benefit.

The way I understood it, if you've been working & paying tax & National Insurance, you would qualify for that.

The only stipulation was that if you left your job voluntarily, there was a 6-week wait before you got the benefit.

I was wrong !

She soon found out that there is no 'unemployment benefit' these days !

All benefits come under the umbrella of 'Universal Credit' !

She filled in a long form that wanted to know everything about her situation.

Then they told her she didn't qualify for any payment because her "funds didn't warrant it" !

If only she'd made sure she spent all her income on partying, she'd have got it !

Daft, I call it.

It is a flawed system. So in other words if you've done the responsible thing and saved up a bit, you don't deserve to claim any money off the state? Are they saying you should spend your own money first before you're eligible? It stinks.

It sure does !

Anything introduced by Iain Duncan Smith isn't going to help the general public in any way.

Just reduce government spending !

Universal Credit will bring all the various complex benefits under one simple system !
Simple because we won't pay out as much !
Everyone's a winner !"

Contacted my doctor by letter with a minor problem.

Next day, the surgery rang to explain they were sending a text with a link.

Clicked on the link & followed instructions which included taking close up & distance photo of the problem area using the phone & clicking 'send'.

That evening the doctor rang me to tell me he'd made a diagnosis & prescribed some antibiotic steroid cream which I could collect from the chemist today !

Such service !

Modern life can be good !

I don't think that will impact on me too much, but some of you younger types might be a tad concerned !

However, it goes on:

That 2020 bit is more worrying, especially as it seems to be accurate !

I posted that on 7th January, before the current pandemic had taken hold !

Kinda creepy, huh ?

That's the way it is now. Hope the problem area wasn't on a particular part of your anatomy. You could get had up for sending such photos.

It was my left foot.

Even that could be dodgy. There are foot fetishists around.

Yeah but... don't you miss the closeness of a doctor... of a live doctor ?
