I have a claim for my water fountain, the wild deer knocked it down when they tried to drink from it and broke the bowl and other pieces, and I have not been game to put the paperwork into the insurance company - ha! (I have proof and a replacement quote, plus I advised the insurance company, it had been raining, and, the funny "proof" is, I took photos of the deer's footprints, I laugh as I type this).
Yes, I've been with them for some time.
I think maybe she was embarrassed because I called her out, when she wasn't expecting me to be familiar with the policy, & her speedy settlement of the claim was to sort of 'make up' for her error.
Your story made me smile.
Are your insurers paying out ?
It is good that your claim went as it did, Colin, how the lady was embarrassed and pushed it through, so it went well. You have a good excess, too.
I really don't know, the insurance company said to just send in my documentation with photos, (they've sent assessors out previously for "normal" storm damage claims).
I also have a photo (which I don't need to share) of the deer's droppings, more proof, so funny.
Here is one photo of the many taken after the skies were so kind to open and soften the ground:
If my horses broke the fountain, the insurance company said that it would not be covered.
