[quote="Jessie-May"]I recall somewhere that there are Kentish Men and Man of Kent and the latter to do with those born in the Weald: a bit complicated and useless info for anyone who doesnt know Kentish history. Once the Garden of England rich in hops and fruit.
Wonder if the ferry still runs beween Gravesend and Tibury is it?

The ferry still operates:

Traditionally, those from the East of the river Medway are known as Men of Kent (or Maids of Kent) and those from the West as Kentish Men (or Kentish Maids).

These terms are seldom used these days.

Travelling over the Thames River South to North, traffic goes through one of the two tunnels, North to South, the bridge is used.

Just to say a warm thank you for helping round this forum since I joined. Must admit I find it overwhelming as I dont have the knowledge you all have on Elvis but I do share with you my love of him and admiration over the decades.

I dont have any memorablia and tbh I have another pop idol whove Ive loved since I was a teenager and I dont have any memorablia of his. He who will remain nameless out of respect for Elvis cyber home is 80 this year and still touring with his band. 8-)

Dearest Jessie-May,

Friendliness, inclusiveness, care, and good times, is the most important, which is more what Elvis, from what I have gathered, and been told, was very much how he was. You have that in spades.

The rest, is just picking things up on the way, Youtube also has a lot of free interviews.

When the internet was first turned on, all those years ago, one of the first things I wanted to look up, was Elvis, to try and listen to him (Youtube was slow and baaaad back then) and, if I was lucky, to learn more about him, and to talk to other fans. I did not know anything, but I was drawn, the same as you have said. I did buy a heap of books (which you really don't need) and read a lot, interacted a lot, too, as the people who were with Elvis, and his family, interact with the fans, so to find out things first hand, is fun, along with different perspectives from positive people with good emotional IQ's, who did not sell their stories, from their times spent with Elvis. That is what I enjoyed a lot, as some of the books, were quite frankly, unnecessary.
