There isn't anyone behind him, he has the woman, who is in a white top, in a tight clinch, his big sideburns are typical 70's & it isn't in Vegas.

Though there are other pictures from that day (July 30,1970) in front of the Hillcrest Drive home, I tagged this one as taken at the RCA Studio C parkade in Hollywood, CA. You can see that typical parking garage lighting. The girl seems to be Doris Canniff (?).

It's probably after the rehearsals at the LA studio [not at Hillcrest] although started on the 30th it would have been 31st when he left.
