Sam Phillips died 12 years ago today when aged 80.
He was the founder of Sun Records in Memphis, discoverer and/or first-time producer of many famous recording artists, including
Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and B.B. King
Sometimes referred to as "The Father of Rock 'n' Roll"
