It's the best and most complete representation to date of the material it contains.

Furthermore, they managed to find a handful of priceless previously unissued, and unknown, alternate takes, and it includes a superb booklet written by super-expert John Ingman, complete with many rare photos.

Get it ! :)

I remember a heavy mettle fan years ago saying my type of music all sounds the same (rock n roll / rockabilly).

So i said that was a strange thing to say when his music sounded the same to me.

So i got one C90 (no cd in those days),and i put on one side the likes of HOLLY,DOMINO,BERRY,EVERLYS,RICHARD,VINCENT,COCHRAN,ETC ETC.

b SIDE WAS MODERN BANDS AT THE TIME,stray cats, jets, pole cats, blue cats etc etc.

Years later i met him at a gig in Glasgo. How times moved his thoughts and he said he played that tape till it broke,he loved those different sounds that the 50s singers were doing, just as i said back in the day via a C90 tape.

And this was the Glasgow gig ...

Thanks Kev and Mister Moon. Good move to put all the 1956 material, outtakes included, together as one compilation retro. Good old label Rollercoaster records, that has found and recovered tapes of and put out number of Eddie Cochran CD's.

As KEV points out, it's the Rockstar label the one that specializes in Eddie Cochran.

They started in the mid-70s, releasing rare Cochran stuff on LP, single, and EP format. In the mid-80s they switched to CD, although for a time they used both formats (not for the same releases). They also issued recordings by other artists, mostly 50s recordings, but their obvious specialty was Cochran.

In more recent times, I know they had some problems, and I'm afraid they may have ceased their existence, since their last Cochran release was in 2009 - the excellent all-instrumental CD "String Fever".

And I believe our old friend Derek Glenister found the cover photo - he showed me the original print.

UP - DATE

FEB 2018 ... http://www.vintagerockmag.com/2018/02/i ... -sale-now/

This issue of Vintage Rock takes an in-depth look at one of the all-time legends of rock’n’roll, Buddy Holly.
When Buddy Holly And The Crickets arrived in London on 28 February 1958, they were already rising fast. But they surely didn’t realise just how much impact they would have on British music over the following month. We look in detail at that groundbreaking March 1958 tour – our cover shot was even taken on the very day Holly first set foot on UK soil – plus we dig deep into some rare Holly memorabilia, and argue the case for Buddy’s 10 greatest tracks of his brief but shining career.

Despite his short time on this planet, Buddy Holly really did leave a stellar legacy. Relive it all in over 20 pages of celebratory pages in this issue.

Wouldn't they sue today the flying company for millions just because of that failure of the pilot not to fly by instruments?

Really, 21 years old...bad weather and flying by sight....which was not there.
