It sure was not. I almost always enjoy your posts.
In general I see these mistakes quite often on the internet.

2022 seems to be a year full of (more or less) biopics about stars I particularly like: Elvis (of course), Marilyn Monroe (Ana de Armas, talked about this in our Marylin thread), Weird Al Yankovic (Daniel Radcliffe - okay, not everyone's cup of tea, but Weird Al caused lots of joy in my early teenage life with his nonsense parodies and his movie "UHF", here's the trailer) and now Whitney Houston (Naomi Ackie)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tfemzaMkoU
Can't help myself, but my first reaction was: How did they achieved Angela Bassett looking so young in this? I'm kidding here! On a more seriously note: Naomi Ackie does not really look exactly like Whitney either, but her performance seems to be top notch and the movie seems to be about Whitney's musical legacy and less of her very sad decline and early death. And the best thing: they're using her real singing voice, so I'm pretty excited about this one.

On a technical note, when 'quoting' the post of another member in your own post, it didn't used to display any photos from the original post.

But it does do so now !

Progress !

Failed.

Perhaps there are certain things that need to be in place for it to work ?

I think it depends on how the original poster has shared the photo.

If the photo is uploaded to the forum, it doesn't appear again when you quote the post. If the photo is posted via some image site, I think it shows. I'm not sure, but I think this is the explanation.

Anyway, when I want to make sure that some photo to appear in a quote, I upload it myself.

Yes, I think that's the answer, but it means first downloading the photo from the poster's post, then adding it to your reply.

We could ask the tech department, but is it that important?

Sorry for causing some confusion ;) I was too lazy to upload the picture and just linked it, probably because I (rightly) hoped that Colin would have a better version of the picture. :D

Actually, I think it's ok that uploaded images are not displayed in quotes - it could bloat a reply unnecessarily. Unless you want to point to a specific photo - but then I usually link directly to the picture, as I just did in the "Rarely seen photos" thread.

When 'quoting' another members' post in your post, you can edit out non-relevant bits, including unwanted pics.

Things can go wrong at the most 'organised' firework displays !

Here's what happened at one I was at on 5th November:
