When Margaret Thatcher ran her de-nationalisation project, the first thing the 'new' companies did was to appoint a CEO on a huge salary with accompanying generous annual bonuses.
Not one of them worked as well as they did when nationalised.
Most are in a complete mess.

No, it was a casual reference to the fact that our boy, doing 'cover' versions of songs, often surpassed the originals !
