Anything 'wrong' there ?

Yes !

And the US civil war was 1865 & not 1965.

And the Auschwich Jews 'marched' into the gas chambers, not the ovens.

I didn't read all the other bits.

Good to see our boy at No.1 !

But was there a UK singles chart that long ago ?

Wow. 119 years ago! I'm older than I thought.

The correct year was 1962 !

That Do You Want To Dance had me wondering, as well.

Turns out it was actually Do You Wanna Dance which was the flip of the more-familiar Cliff title I'm Looking Out the Window.

The original Do You Wanna Dance [the one I seem to be remembering] was by Bobby Freeman in 1958, but it never charted in the UK...

Another mistake:
At #6 'Come Outside' is listed as being sung by Mike SARNIE, of course it should be Mike Sarne.

Well spotted !

And it was good to see our boy at No.1 with a straight forward, contemporary single.

Not a nostalgic re-issue, not a 'cover' version, no remixing, no TV ad tie-in, no additional orchestral tampering, just Elvis & his usual crew...

To be fair, I'm uncertain whether the artists listed are supposed to have recorded the original or are simply the versions that inspired the Elvis version.

Either way, they aren't all correct...

Weird list. Well, he might have sometimes felt like a motherless child, but he didn't sing it.

Look at 'It Hurts Me' - Elvis covered his own song!

Except that the original was by Jerry Jackson in July 1963, and it's a brilliant version.
