Something not right there !

You'd have thought that the Official UK Charts Company would have got things right !

Frankie wasn't a British artist.

Elvis Costello has announced he's not singing Olivers Army any more & has asked DJs to stop playing it.

Can you spot what it is in the lyric that has prompted his actions ?

Yep, it's been in the news and the appropriate part of the lyric was highlighted.

From an internet list of rare & valuable records:

Speedway Article.JPG

I'm revealing this one myself:

Well, in the first place the 'rare' Speedway album was only said to be worth more than normal for the mono version !

A fact they fail to mention & they even show a sleeve of the usual 'stereo' version !

Even though it wasn't a popular release [it failed to enter the UK album chart]
it seems very unlikely that 'only 300' of the album were released.

In conclusion, the 'Rare Record Price Guide - 2020' has the following entry:

Speedway - Price - 2020 - 001.jpg

That's £25 for stereo & £30 for the mono version !

So much for being worth $5,000 !

I hope you told them the error of their ways.

But that price guide capture shows the UK release of the "Speedway" album.

The rarity is the US mono version (LPM-3989) :

Not in the 'official' UK Album Chart it didn't:
