It seems he's judging most men based on his own limited awareness. That's a foolish thing to do.

To be fair, I think his remark was in jest.

When he met servicemen in WW2 he used to say:

"Shake the hand that's held the prick that's fucked Betty Grable !"

She was the favourite pin-up of the US armed forces back then, but she doesn't actually feature in the list of his 8 wives.

Doesn't mean he was lying though...
