Slowly but surely, YouTube is being flooded by AI crap simulating vintage recordings by non-existing performers. Dozens and dozens of uploads, with matching fake record covers and fake images.

I wonder who spends their priceless time creating this damn shit. It's a bit creepy and scary, if you ask me.

The other day, I stumbled upon a whole channel devoted to AI doo-wop. I've listened to a handful of them songs, and it's all soul-less, FACE-LESS, by-the-numbers stuff. I mean, even ShaNaNa did it better.

You know, yesterday I was driving the car, and a Carl Perkins cd of Sun classics was blasting away. I couldn't help but think that AI will never create stuff like that.

Some people seem to like this.
On our local radio one programm uses AI to compose songs.
They type the title of the programm, the names of the presentors, the subjects they are going to discuss and then the AI program composes a song featuring what they typed as well as a tune.

I think that’s a legitimate use of AI. It keeps the programme sounding fresh, no station would employ a jingle writer full time just to write daily jingles for their shows. As for YouTube being flooded with AI songs I find that very sad. There are so many bands out there that most people haven’t discovered but they waste their time listening to soulless AI songs. I’ve listened to some and even had AI create a couple for me and when you think of what is being done it’s truly amazing, but it’s not a patch on the songs that talented people write and preform.

We are entering a very odd age and I’ve no idea where it is leading us.
