And yet, when that vindictive book by Albert Goldman came out in 1981, which most fans dismissed outright,
Sir Precipice Dick believed every lie in it & stated:

"I felt dirty for ever having been an Elvis fan !"

What a two-faced twit...

I am a fan of the music of quite a few artists I would not like to be my friend.
In the past there was little information about the singers, certainly in The Netherlands.
Only from 1960 onwards rock and roll music was heard on radio.
The magazines had glossy photos giving little information.
Only when The Beatles and their collegues became popular, there was more pop music on the radio.
But we only got a top-40 in 1965!
These days on YouTube I see old music clips I could only dream of in the sixties.....

and yet, the Goldman book had a lot of truths in it. It certainly made me think of Elvis less favourably. I still loved the music, but lost a lot of respect for the man.

Cliff in the meantime has actually upheld his respect for Elvis, always speaking well of him.

I wonder what will be revealed about the Bachelor Boy when he finally shuffles off this mortal coil?
