ZDF Disco

Postby Yin Yang » Sat Jul 22, 2023 4:39 pm

There are about 132 monthly shows from ZDF (Zweites Deutschen Fernsehen - Second German TV station) called "Disco" made of which about half is available for viewing for free on YouTube. Search for "Disco", "Disco 71", "Disco 72", "Disco 73" et cetera. There are also compilations.
In general the episodes run some 35 minutes.
The music in general is playback or live vocals over a pre-recorded backing track. There are live exceptions.
Major stars are featured, like Brotherhood Of Man, Pussycat, Cat Stevens, Dave Dundas, George Baker Selection and famous Germans like Jurgen Drews, Peter Maffay et cetera.
The introductions are in German. Occasionally songs / artists are cut out giving the funny situation and artist is introduced followed by "that was .....".
The only backside is that the presenter thinks of himself as being funny and does lots of sketches. If only these were cut out instead of the artists / songs.......
