I must honestly admit that I knew him almost only in connection with Elvis. But that's probably because I know very little about the history of American football and it's not exactly my favorite sport.

Jim Brown was filming "Rio Conchos" for 20th Century Fox around the time he met Elvis. The two must have met in April 1964. According to Rex Martin, the meeting took place on April 1, 1964. However, according to information on afi.com the production team of "Rio Conchos" moved from Utah to Los Angeles on April 6, 1964. The shooting of "Roustabout" was finished on April 20, 1964 - so I guess it was sometime between those two dates.

RIP Jim. He made some cool movies back in the 70s and was great in the very funny I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka
