So Long, Robert Gordon

Postby Mister Moon » Tue Oct 18, 2022 9:27 pm

Rockabilly great Robert Gordon has finally lost his battle with leukemia. His family had raised nearly 16,000 dollars in just a few days through GoFundMe, which says a lot about the respect many felt for the singer, but it's been impossible to save him. He was 75.

I purchased Robert's "Rock Billy Boogie" 45 at release time, and got to see him in concert in 1991, when he appeared with Chris Spedding leading once again his band. It was a memorable concert. They did a great version of "Love Me", just voice and guitar, that's engraved in my damn brain for the rest of my life.

Thank you, Robert. You will be missed.
