I've just come across this on my FB that someone has posted. 152 podcasts and climbing, including episodes dedicated to Elvis. If you're a rock 'n' roll fan, there is so much interesting materiel here.

Way back in the late 80s, I used to have my own weekly, later daily, radio show at a local station (that despite being local reached a potential audience of many thousands). I could play whatever I wanted, no pressure at all, so it was rock and roll all the way. On August 16, 1987, we did a 16-hour Elvis tribute show, from 8 am to midnight, ending with "Can't Help Falling In Love" from the 1977 Indianapolis concert. Another time, I played the entire MDQ session, stopping just to turn the records over. Good times.

That sounds fantastic. Was all of this recorded?

It was broadcast 100% live. I did everything, which was so cool. I had two turntables. One was on the air, and meanwhile I was adjusting the next record in the other. We also had a double cassette player, mostly used for the publicity, and the occasional song that I did not have on record. I think I have on tape the very last show I did, in 1989, and maybe one another. The very last clip I played was Alan Freed's 1959 farewell to his fans. I don't know how many people noticed it, but there it was.
