Mrs jungleroombear thinks it may have potential as a provocative Autumnal gusset-warmer. i tell her she would look a million dollars wearing it as such.

In reality, wether the ear-holes could ever stretch over her muscular thighs and formidably spikey undercarriage is another matter.

Inside Oxford’s Push For ‘Challenge Trials’ Amid International Race For Coronavirus Vaccine -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL4F8cKQQhU

Even if a vaccine is approved and is rolled out, what will be any side effects to people with pre existing conditions like weaker immune systems, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, coronary disease ?

Yes so many unknowns. A huge amount of public money has already been pumped into the university.

Today Victoria has recorded 394 new coronavirus cases, which is the lowest tally in more than a week but they've also seen
17 deaths.

This has been in the news here. Not a Vaccine, but it claims to cure patients from the virus a lot faster than 14 days.

I reckon in the future as epidemiologists learn more about the covid 19 virus we are going to see more treatment drugs like this being a more viable and readily available, rather than vaccine.

The following has been in the news here.

I am cautiously optimistic after seeing the report.
This is no vaccine but a anti viral drug that could well be a game-changer.

Anti-viral drugs is going to be a more viable option in order to find a treatment for millions of ppl who have the virus.

Doctor claims Ivermectin triple therapy is 'amazingly effective' in treating COVID-19

another write-up here (june 2020):

Ivermectin: a systematic review from antiviral effects to COVID-19 complementary regimen

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41429-020-0336-z

"Ivermectin, owing to its antiviral activity, may play a pivotal role in several essential biological processes, therefore it could serve as a potential candidate in the treatment of different types of viruses including COVID-19. Clinical trials are necessary to appraise the effects of ivermectin on COVID-19 in clinical setting and this warrants additional investigation for probable benefits in humans in the current and future pandemics. On April 10, 2020, FDA issued a statement concerning self-administration of ivermectin against COVID-19 [43] referring to recently published in vitro study on this subject [15]. FDA highlighted that this type of in vitro study is usually used in the early stages of drug development. Moreover, further trials are needed to confirm the safety and efficacy of ivermectin for human use against COVID-19 to discover preventive or therapeutic window [43].

As noted, the activity of ivermectin in cell culture has not reproduced in mouse infection models against many of the viruses and has not been clinically proven either, in spite of ivermectin being available globally. This is likely related to the pharmacokinetics and therapeutic safety window for ivermectin. The blood levels of ivermectin at safe therapeutic doses are in the 20–80 ng/ml range [44], while the activity against SARS-CoV2 in cell culture is in the microgram range. Ivermectin is administered orally or topically. If safe formulations or analogs can be derived that can be administered to achieve therapeutic concentrations, ivermectin could be useful as a broad-spectrum antiviral agent"

interesting read, but i'm skeptical. They have skipped virtually all testing protocols or international scrutiny...

Putin says Russia has registered "world first" coronavirus vaccine

https://edition.cnn.com/world/live-news ... tl/index...

...

Russia has officially registered a coronavirus vaccine developed by the Moscow-based Gamaleya Institute, President Vladimir Putin said on Russian state TV on Tuesday.

Speaking in a live teleconference with his cabinet ministers, Putin said the vaccine had gone through all the necessary checks.

"A vaccine against coronavirus has been registered for the first time in the world this morning," Putin said, adding: "I know that it works quite effectively, it forms a stable immunity."
"So we're the first to have registered. I hope our foreign colleagues' work will move as well, and a lot of products will appear on an international market that could be used," Putin said.

The Russian President revealed that one of his daughters has taken the vaccine; he said she had a slightly higher temperature following the injections, but that she now feels better.

"I know this very well too, as one of my daughters has been inoculated with the vaccine," he said.
"I think that this way she participated in the experiment. After the first injection her temperature was 38 [degrees Celsius], the next day 37-something and that's it. After the second injection the temperature also got a bit higher but that's it, then it went back down. Now she feels well."

Reports about Russia's vaccine have come amid concerns about its safety, effectiveness and allegations that the country has cut essential corners in its development.

Russian officials told CNN previously that crucial Phase III trials would take place after state registration of the vaccine.

Russia has released no scientific data on its vaccine testing and CNN is unable to verify its claimed safety or effectiveness.

Critics say the country's push for a vaccine comes amid political pressure from the Kremlin, which is keen to portray Russia as a global scientific force.

New Zealand, which has been the leader and envy of the world , as one of the first countries to have eliminated the virus, has recorded four new domestic related cases, all from the one family, in mysterious circumstances -

Covid 19 coronavirus: Auckland in lockdown, rest of country in level 2 - Four cases of community transmission

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced Auckland will go into lockdown and the rest of the country will go into level 2

It comes after four cases of community transmission from the same family were confirmed - after 102 days without any.

As of noon tomorrow, Auckland will move to level 3 for three days until midnight on Friday.

The rest of the country will move to alert level 2 at midday tomorrow - until midnight on Friday.

For Auckland, that means working from home unless you were an essential service worker.

The area covered by level 3 is the Auckland Super City - from Wellsford in the north to Pukekohe in the south.

Schools will close unless they had students whose parents were essential workers. Public facilities, bars, restaurants and businesses must close tomorrow.

"We're asking people in Auckland to stay home to stop the spread," Ardern said.

"Act as if you have Covid, and as though people around you have Covid."

Pharmacies and supermarkets will remain open, but Ardern said there was no reason to panic-buy.

(CNN)Would you trust a vaccine if Vladimir Putin told you it was safe?

Follow-up question: Would Donald Trump trust a vaccine if Putin told him it was safe?
This is not the space race, it's a worldwide pandemic. Putin is nevertheless trying to claim victory here. And while the US medical community has poured cold water on Trump's suggestions that a vaccine could be ready by Election Day, Putin has just pulled one out of a hat and named it Sputnik, after the satellite mission that shocked the world in 1957.

Never underestimate the willingness of powerful people to engage in some geopolitical propaganda. That's why Putin sent PPE to New York this spring, even as the virus took hold in his own country.
Russia's the country that reported very few cases of Covid, before the outbreak became impossible to deny. It's the country where doctors critical of the government's response fall out of windows.
Transparency concerns matter here
Can you trust a Russian vaccine more than you can trust a Russian election result? The kind of electoral fraud that Trump frequently alleges, without evidence, happens in the US in fact does happen in Russia, according to democracy watchdogs.

No need to get the Russian one. Sputnik 5 hasn't been scrutinized outside of Russia's medical peers and therefore not passed any safety and efficacy trials. They've skipped steps.

Plus there are others in phase 2 and 3 trials already:
