My ex-mother-in-law, in her nineties, had a fall & went to hospital to be checked & was sent home.

Shortly after, she had another fall & broke her hip.

She's now in hospital again & the test they did the first time has come through - positive for covid-19 !

Her two sons have had the virus, & one has died.

She never used to leave the house & all the family who visit her have been tested negative.

Could it have been the carers who visit who passed it on ?

Or did she get it from her first brief hospital visit ?

Last summer there was a lot of talk about carers spreading it. I'm not sure how things stand at the moment. As for hospitals, my sister-in-law went into hospital late last year for about 12 days. She went in for a non covid related problem, but was in a ward with three covid patients. She was tested negative on release, but within a few days not only then showed positive, but infected three other people. My friend's mum went into hospital at the age of 90 with dementia. She got covid. She's still in hospital after nearly a year. The family have been called several times and told to prepare for the worst, but each time she has rallied round.

My first vaccination of the Pfizer vaccine was on 8th January.

Had my second one today [11th Feb 21].

No queues, straight in & out again.

Not looking good for my ex-brother-in-law - now in an induced coma due to double pneumonia.

How’s he doing Colin?

I already posted that the 'induced coma' wasn't quite that.
It's just that he's so heavily sedated that he's asleep most of the time.
He seems to be responding to his treatment, but has a way to go yet.
Thanks for asking.

Fingers crossed for his recovery.

Just heard the sad news.

As his kidneys had stopped working, they switched his ventilator off.

He's died.

What a joy...my first CORONA injection is tomorrow (the only reason is/was because i'm a risk patient, i have MS and some other "little" Diseases too). Man, it takes so long; I'm 59 years old! What happens with younger ones...?! Injection in about 3-4 years?! This is all so crazy...

12 months in the past it wasn't even sure that there will be a vaccine against corona.
