The coolest season of the year. This will be the first normal summer since 2019, so that makes it even cooler, and I will try to dig it the most.
I recently stumbled upon the sole record release of The Pals, a NY vocal group. This was originally released in the summer of 1958, A forgotten gem.
Play it loud !

That reminds me.
We had our village carnival here last weekend and there was a fair, with dodgem cars. Back in the good old days you'd get in the dodgems, some member of the great unwashed would hop between cars to get your money, and the music was great, rock 'n' roll, doo-wop.....
Now you have to pay at the booth (£10 per car), then you get in the car and have to strap yourself in round the shoulders, then someone checks that you have strapped yourself in, then off you go for about 5 minutes, and there's no music.
Miserable experience.

That's what I thought too, then last Saturday this bloody virus managed to infect one of us, first time in over 2.5 years since it broke out. Don't worry, the one who got it is ok, but now there is a kinda internal lockdown in our house and it all starts over again (masks, tests before work...) But I don't want to spoil the mood: Here's a song that will always herald the summer for me and, yes, also cheers me up again this time:

I hope everything is fine over there. Thanks for the video. It's a very nice summer song indeed.

Yup, "You got women, you got women on your mind, have a drink, have a drive, go out and see what you can find".
Or
"If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal, If her daddy's poor, just do what you feel, Speed along the lane, do a ton or a ton and 25
When the sun goes down, you can make it, make it good in a lay-by"
How long before some do-gooder wants it banned?
It's a great feel good track, no. 5 in my summer playlist on my iPod.
