John wrote:...Everyone's entitled to one ....... (finished this quote from the late King of Rock 'n' Roll).
Colin.Bee wrote:Was it by any chance “Everyone’s entitled to one stupid mistake with Roman numerals”?
Colin B wrote:There was talk of using Roman numerals everywhere & I thought "Not on my watch !"
Yin Yang wrote:Roman numerals are used on films, TV programms (series), videotapes and some books.

In the examples quoted by Yin Yang, they don't want the dates easily read by most viewers...

Quote of the Day - 19th July 2024 - 001.jpg

===============================================================================================

Smart clothes aren't as popular as they once were.

Once upon a time, a dark suit for a man was the epitome of respectability.

Nowadays, if someone approaches me in a smart, dark suit, they either want to sell me something
or tell me that Jesus loves me...

Or both, trying to sell to you that Jesus loves you.

One response I use is "Well, if Jesus loves me, he has a funny way of showing it !"

Maybe it was the guy with the rifle who did that.

Credit where it's due...

Quote of the Day - 20th July 2024:

The 'i' Newspaper - 20th July 2024 - 001.jpg

Persia-Iran Map.JPG

Persia is now Iran.

The meaning must be that, if there's a potentially dangerous action to be undertaken, best get an enemy to perform it.

Might be a bit difficult to arrange that...

My memory is poor.
I used to have a sister, who loaned money from me more than once. Always small amounts so she could do some shopping for groceries or bread.
Or if we were at the supermarket at the same time (we lived near eachother) I paid for her groceries too.
I always forgot I loaned her money.
When visiting her she gave me money and when I asked where that was for, she said it was for the money she loaned x weeks ago.
Unfortunately she passed away at a much too young age.

Turns out we shouldn't have been so trusting...
