Amnesia is, sadly, something that comes to all of us.

It's an 'age' thing...

What is?

Glyn wrote:Ah yes, why do I have it - well my music collection is exactly that. I have anything and everything l can recall that I have heard and it includes TV themes, Classical, and as a joke the Truly Awful and Oddities playlist - more for amusement than anything else. Obviously, there is a lot of stuff that skips when on shuffle. Some other classics featured to check out:
There’s No-one Quite Like Grandma by The St Winifred’s School Choir (and a No 1)
Orville’s Song by Keith Harris
I Love Onions by Susan Christie
If by Telly Savalas (another No 1)
Old McDonald by Elvis (sadly never No 1)

Unfortunately, my beloved iPod also has a couple of Rolf Harris and Gary Glitter (that obviously never get played) but they are part of the history of music.

I have often said to the Mrs that l can’t believe that if one of the Fab Four was ever alleged to have done something awful in the past that we would never hear a Beatles record played again - enough said.

I've checked my iPod, I'm happy to say I don't have I Remember Elvis Presley on it, but I do have it on a music storage hard drive. I've never had Gary Glitter as I never liked him, ever. No Rolf Harris, not because of anything he did, I just never had any songs by him.

When "I remember Elvis Presley" by Danny Mirror (real name Eddy Ouwens) was played on national radio the friday morning after Elvis died, there was quite a controversy here.
There are 2 versions of the song, one with a Dutch DJ intro and one with an English DJ intro.

Upon presenting the prescription to my local pharmacy I was told I have to pay an additional € 150,00 per month for this medicine as the health insurance does not cover this.
So I took the prescription, went back to the hospital, which has a pharmacy department near the entrance hall, presented the prescription and ..... got the medicine without any additional payment.
Next month I went to my local pharmacy again and the same problem. So I informed them when the hospital pharmacy told me i.e. that when you are prescribed medicine A & B and in addition get prescribed medicine C because A & B do not enough for your illness, it gets paid by the health insurance.
For 1 1/2 year I got the medicine without additional payment from my local pharmacy. And 2 weeks agio they just stopped supplying it! No explanation, no warning, nothing.
So I asked my doctor for a prescription, went to the hospital pharmacy and got the medicine. And I told the local pahrmacy from now on I will get all medicine prescribed from the hospital pharmacy. They were not happy. Neither am I because this means I have to walk 20 minutes (and back) to get my medicine instead of 5 minutes. Also I have to pick it up, no home delivery if necessary. And due to strict rules no-one else can pick up my medicine.
All this because someone at the local pharmacy does not know the rules.

I guess looking on the flip side, The 20 min walk will do you good. I am not being smart by saying this. I have a heart problem and I am on medication. I don't drive, I do walk a lot which is a great way to stay fit and keep your heart healthy. :)

I see the President of Argentina - Javier Milei - wants to 'make Argentina great again'.

He could appoint this guy as his second in command.

I totally agree with you,
I was diagnosed heartfailure when I was sitting on the couch being tired.
Doctor sent me to the hospital for a check-up and I had to stay a week, got medicine, more x-rays and check-ups.
Being discharged with another set of medicines and being able to walk without getting breathless.
Then several months ago I could not walk more than 2 minutes and had to sit down or stand leabing against the wall or lanternpole to catch my breath and walk another 2 minutes.
Different medicine precribed by the heart specialist cured this problem. But caused the problem that one of the meidcines is not on health insurance by my regular pharmacy, while I get it without extra payment at the hospital pharmacy.
Yesterday I went to the office of the health insurance and they told me I do not have to pay for this medicine and I took a photo of the screen.
Showed that to my regular pharmacy and they still insist I have to pay for it.
So now I wrote to the health insurance headquarters, asking if they by letter will confirm or deny the subject medicine is covered by my health insurance.
Walking to the long-distance pharmacy may become a problem in the future. I am not allowed to send someone else to pick up the prescribed medicines and they do not deliver at home if necessary.
There are 2 things that do me good. Whenever I can I take a walk and I have a lovely 27 year old lady to discuss whatever we like to discuss. She works for the local old age people welfare organisation. She can also arrange for me to get a scootmobile, but knowing myself I do not want one yet. I rather walk or travel by tram/bus/underground.

I hope you get this sorted out. I have VT just came on me one morning back in 2009 I ended up in coronary care. Structurally my heart is fine. They put me on a tablet which I had for a few years. I couldn't walk to the shop without getting out of breath. Each time they upped dose thinking it's my VT long story short. I went for a test called Brugada test. Lung scan. Which were both ok. A different cardiologist took me off this tablet and put me on a different one within a day I felt back to normal. No breathless nothing. Turns out it was the medication.

Good to see the different medicine was OK for you.
My heart is defective ands does not pump correct. Medicine stimulate the pump function, pills that make me go to the toilet make sure there is nu fluid detention, as that stores behind my lungs causing being out of breath real fast.
My life expectancy is not very long, but I enjoy every day I wake up and have had a reasonably pleasant life.
I am giving lots of things I no longer use or have not used after buyng it to the recycle welfare store, any money coming in there goes to the cats shelter.
Also I sell things, like my Elvis LP's (I have it all on CD in multiple variations), a scanner I no longer use, CD's, DVD"s and books and all money coming in goes to cats shelter and birds shelter and 2 guys who run an animal shelter where old animals do not get killed but live a happy last months or years of their life.
There are people who try to take advantage of that, but I see through them.

I have old radio programms digitalized from old reel to reel tapes.
I do not mind sharing, but it is risky to put them on the internet plus I do not know where I can upload the radio shows.
YouTube only accepts film clips with music, but what I have is sound only.
So I decided to send USB-sticks with these radio shows along with any item sold.
My sister gave me a bunch of USB-sticks she does not use anymore but before formatting and using, I decided to check what is on them.
Believe it or not, she has photo's from our youth that I did not have!
And I am the one that, with permission of brother and sisters, took all photo's and negatives and scanned them and then gave every family member all scans.
Somehow my sister got these photo's long ago.
Life can be a surprise sometimes.
