Scientists don't normally claim 'proof'.

They offer the most likely scenario, given the knowledge & facts known at that moment.

Creationist simply go by a gut feeling that they must be right.

I know where my bets go...

I was speaking to a Christian chap the other day, and he asked me to explain how come Jesus was able to die for three days and rise again, because, that is what he did.

I asked him to explain it, and he said, "it's in the bible".

The bible - a hotchpotch of various writings by different men, years after the events they describe, & not an eye-witness among them !

Edited & translated over & over for years on end.

With today's knowledge of old languages, why don't they check the original writings to see if things are correct ?

Answer: They can't because there aren't any 'originals' !

I notice the bible forgot to mention the dinosaurs - probably because nobody found a skeleton until a few hundred years after it was written.
Although I still say it’s a good code to live by and bring up your children (once you get over the notion of having to sacrifice them).

Well, 99.9% of all species that ever lived are now extinct.

Can't expect god/the bible to remember them all...

There are people who are offended because other people tell them they should be offended. I find that very offensive.
