He didn't take his own advice.

To be fair, I think his remark was in jest.

Yes, I'm sure it was.

Had to read that through a few times, Sinclair.

Guess you mean if the item is limited to one per customer.

Makes it seem to be a 'must-buy'...

It's too general a statement. What he meant was that some people......

Don't really get to know your neighbours until you move in, Louise...

My next door neighbour made me a madras curry last night. It's something she does quite often.

The one the other side is really stuck up, only ever used to speak to me, or anyone, if we dropped off a parcel we'd taken in for her, and then it was "thank you", and a slam of the door. Her husband is friendly but very religious and it can get quite awkward. When I told him my mum was dying he asked if he could say a prayer for her. I said he could, but I didn't expect him to do it there and then in front of me. "Those are powerful words, she'll be all right" he said. She died two days later.

Sometimes it almost seems like god couldn't care less, doesn't it ?

Or maybe doesn't exist at all.

Sounds like your neighbours are caring people.

Mine are too !

Equally, surely the very nature of having an open mind is that you're receptive to people trying to put things into it, but by a process of evaluation, you decide whether to accept those things. Having an open mind enables you to learn. It also teaches you that opinions are generally worthless when compared to facts.

When I said "it narrows the field a tad" I was referring to the fact that a lot people I know are more than my equal...
