Original Danish 'Heartbreak Hotel' ep.

Postby TonyS » Sat May 16, 2020 8:55 pm

As the title of the topic says, and often overlooked in on line Danish discographies.
Released and made in Denmark.
Superb condition considering its age, and best of all, it was a gift.

Beautiful record. I have always liked that sleeve design, and this one retains much of the original US release features, even the number. Which year was this released in Denmark ?

My apologies, I should have said.
It was released in Denmark in 1959.
Yes, there's something about the sleeve design, image and typeface.
Echoes of the past.

A lovely record a great sleeve.

I don't own this cool record sleeve from any country.

There were some cool sleeves done in the 50s.

It's a times like this I realise how much I miss Ger Rijff, he knew his stuff when it came to our boy in the 50's.

Oh yeah. Even though he was occasionally a pain in the proverbial, he was great. I've still got all the stuff we worked on on Too Much Monkey Business. He sent me all these books and magazines to scan, but I did return them all.

I remember you did post some interesting stuff from him when he passed away. We could even have a memorial section on him, if you have more. And I believe his son is a member here, right ?

Yes, but he's never posted and not been active since 21 September 2019. Ger always said how proud he was of Jamie in his emails.

I think this is a superb plan. ¨Rijff's Corner¨
I still have some things from the monkey forum days i'd be honored to throw inn.

Come to think of it, I remember him saying about Danish pressings how they were of infuriour quality, with colourfull words describing the printing quality.
Good humour that a rare Danish 'Heartbreak Hotel' EP may lead to an 'I Miss Ger' topic.

Anyway.... I'm inn! Even though I'm not a regular.

Back on topic: Beautiful record, beautiful shape, beautiful cover! Thanks for showing.
