I used to buy singles, albums and 78s to complete my grand granddad's collection after he died but I haven't bought any for a long while. I have been thinking of finding my list and restarting to get them but can't remember where I put it. I might look later today.

I'm only really interested in UK pressings.

The question is "Would you like to see a dedicated section" on this board?

After giving up for a good 25 years, I only buy vinyl again.

I don't see the attraction in downloads or CDs .

Saw an Elvis album from 1956 sell for £740 on ebay on Sunday.

Yes John if the management will agree to this, I personally would love a ‘Vinyl Section’ on this forum :D

Aha, finally a direct reply. I was trying to ascertain if there was an audience for it, but now I don't know if there is. I suppose I could try it.

I did it already, there is a vinyl section. You didn't notice? Go fill it.

I'd love to collect vinyl again as I loved my vinyl when I was younger, but damn it's expensive!

Vintage copies are easy to find and most of them are cheap.

New reissues are expensive and most of them are not worth the money, imo.

You took these words out of my mouth. Whenever I see some record stores with those racks filled with out-of-copyright LP reissues it makes me cringe. Most of them look so fake, and it's evident they are made by people looking for the easy buck, not by music lovers.

Not too long ago, I spotted a reissue of Gene Vincent's second album (released in 1957, but including 1956 material) where they had slaughtered the original glorious back cover, and included laughable new pseudo-cool liner notes and post-1956 photos. I would have burned it right there.

Personally I do not collect vinyl and do not have a record player anymore.

It seems to have been a good shout, John. I'm in anyway.
