Wow, Colonel Snow, I love "Moonlight Sonata" within itself, and I did not know that there are lyrics (silly me) to this sonata.

Love it, thank you (and I normally don't like operatic voices).

The 'vocals' heard on the Elvis version are some of the most 'unmusical' ones ever...

I thought someone dubbed that and Elvis just played the melody on the piano?

There is something for me to watch? :D :D :D

Well, there isn't a video clip of it, if that's what you mean !

It could well be Elvis on the piano, but I think his voice is detectable as well in the wordless, impromptu vocals !

All recorded at the same time, not overdubbed later...

It can be heard, in all its tuneful glory, on the 2000 CD: In a Private Moment [FTD 3].

I'm not sure if colonel snow gave some background on this song or not, but it's not there now.

This is adapted from Wikipedia:

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor "Quasi una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2.
Popularly known as the Moonlight Sonata, it's a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven.
It was completed in 1801 and dedicated in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi.
The piece is one of Beethoven's most popular compositions for the piano, and it was a popular favorite even in his own day.
Beethoven wrote the Moonlight Sonata in his early thirties, after he had finished with some commissioned work; there is no evidence that he was commissioned to write this sonata

NB: It's not known if Elvis was 'commissioned' to do his dire version...
