For me it is "old" news.
It's known "I got a sweetie" was used on RCA releases.

It wasn't posted as 'news'.

Just as relevant info & for discussion.

'He Never Has Left Me Alone' by The Spirit Of Memphis Quartet(te), recorded in 1949, and released as 78 rpm King (4371), july 1950. Flipside: ‘If Jesus Had To Pray’.

The author writes: "Sung a capella and at a slower pace than 'I Got A Woman', the melody is very similar."

'Good News' by the Zion Travellers, released on Atlas, in 1947/8. Flipside: ‘I Can’t See Mine’.

The author notes that the song "features a very similar melody to 'I Got A Woman' and includes lyrics with a similar structure although they pertain to a savior (Jesus) rather than to a woman."

I couldn’t find a version of ‘Good News’ by the Zion Travelers, but I did find one by the Pilgrim Travelers, also recorded in 1947.
