The movie was shot in just over 20 days and the soundtrack was made up of previously recorded songs. Elvis won the Laurel Award for Best Male Actor in a Musical for his role in the film.

The promo is offered with a movie herald from the West 16 Drive-In Theatre in Charlotte, North Carolina that measures approximately 12 3/8 by 8 3/4 inches (31.43 x 22.22 cm), a Danish program that measures approximately 6 1/4 by 4 3/4 inches (15.87 x 12.06 cm), an Icelandic program that measures approximately 8 1/4 by 4 inches (20.95 x 10.16 cm) and five black-and-white movie stills that each measure between 7 3/8 by 10 1/8 inches (20 x 25.71 cm) and 8 by 10 1/8 inches (20.32 x 25.71 cm).
