On the backside of LPM 1884 (first editions) the character in the movie is named "Danny Finnell"; this is the original name in the script before it was changed into Danny Fisher.

The Spanish release of this album from the late 70s has the same variation (liner notes translated to Spanish, though).

In the UK it was repaired in the 60's like other countries did.

Don't ask me why
The song was written by Ben Weisman and Fred Wise; the song was recorded on 2 september 1954 by Perry Como but never released.
Recently a clip with this version was posted on Youtube but it's different comparing Elvis' version although it's the same songwriting team. (Thanks Sebastiano for the clip)

A new book reveals that the box office takings for King Creole makes it rank only 27th [out of 31 Elvis films] !

Surprisingly, it fared worse than Wild in the Country [19th] & Flaming Star [22nd].

Yes, a "teenage idol" who was too old to play a teenager.

There are many bizarre examples of actors / actresses playing the role of teenagers, while they were well into their twenties in real life.

James Dean was 24 when he appeared on "Rebel Without A Cause", Elvis was 23 in "King Creole", 26 in "Blue Hawaii", etc.

There is a 1956 film directed by Don Siegel, "Crime In The Streets", starring John Cassavetes. The film is about juvenile delinquency... but Cassavetes was already 26 years old !

He was young at heart though.
