Elvis' version of what? Born? Erm..... you do know that isn't Elvis, don't you? Have I missed something here?

Check out a song called, "Born". Really nice.
Vince Everett has the 50's sound down pretty well.
Thanks, Cadillac-Elvis.
I listened, and for me, Orion's voice does not have the depth, the base notes, as his voice is not as strong as Elvis', Orion, to me, cannot sustain the note. Orion does not have the breathing nor the tone, the timing, either. (This, of course, is only my point of view, and fun for me to listen for the differences).

Elvis:
There is depth, Elvis' voice has so much unreleased power, that his voice surrounds the listener, and always, when he sings tenderly, his voice caresses, and also, Elvis voice is also rich.

I agree, Elvis had a depth to his voice that no one has. I was not trying to compare Orion's voice with Elvis' other than to say
Orion, did a good job of copying Elvis' 70's voice.
the only reason I brought up "Born" is that I thought its a nice song.
Orion recorded a bunch of stuff and didn't simply sing Elvis tunes, so sometimes it give you an idea
of the way a certain song sounded if Elvis had recorded it.
And as John points out, Elvis did not record "Born".

It is all really interesting. I did not think that "Born" was Elvis' type of song, or my gut was telling me something, I have no idea, but it is interesting that I answered and experienced, my own question, and answer, which is good.
I don't know if we heard about Orion in Australia, perhaps I was not old enough.
Rick, was Orion known here in Australia? (Thank you, Rick, too).

I went to see this film when it first hit the cinema and I walked out during the silly scene where he sings "Good Rockin' Tonight" under a tree at school. That scene for me was so embarrassing, and not to mention inaccurate, that I just couldn't bare to watch any more. I remember walking out the cinema thinking "i wonder what other silly things they have put in there?!"....luckily I didn't have to witness any more of it.
It wasn't until years and years later that i happened to see the "Blue Moon Of Kentucky" scene where Kurt looked like he's having an epileptic fit while singing it, or should that be mining it. This scene is even more embarrassing than the one i walked out on to the point where it's actually funny and bizarre.
To this day i still haven't seen the whole movie and i have no intentions of doing so either.
I can understand why the movie was made to cash in on Elvis' death, and it seems it was made in a bit of a hurry, judging by the year it came out. And i'm sure it did well at the box office. I also don't think Kurt Russell was the best choice either imo.

I simply made a stupid mistake. I don't know much about this genre of Elvis' music as a lot of this particular type, does not interest me.
Who is singing? This voice answers my own question, doesn't?
There are probably going to be more wobbly times, as my aunt, who was a mother to me, is not doing well (she has been holding on for nearly a year, now, and is determined), and I feel out of it at times, and have to keep going and be strong for my family, yet it is hard, as her daughters are understandably distraught, and we are very close, then I take a breath, and keep going, but, at times, I don't "feel there" (my uncle died a few months ago, too). It is "the time" I guess, one by one, now, perhaps I should just let myself be upset and I would be better. Going to hug a horse.

I am sure you must have heard and perhaps didn't know it.
At first he was a mystery. He went by Jimmy Ellis.
do you remember an album with studio created duets in which one became a big hit....."Save the last dance for me" with Jerry Lee lewis, and
they tried to imply that it was Elvis singing the other voice but it was Ellis/ Orion.
Here's the link and give it a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ix-PCzdpdWU

MM, it wasn't a criticism, but it goes to show that there are singers that can sound very like Elvis. The closest as far as I'm concerned was Orion, or Jimmy Ellis, as cadillac-elvis pointed out. He naturally sounded like him, unlike most imps who put on the voice. There are loads of videos on youtube if you want to spend a bit of time having a listen to him.
Jimmy was murdered during a robbery in his shop in 1998.
Sorry to hear about your aunt. It's life I'm afraid, but I hope you've got people around you who can be strong for you while you're being strong for your family.
The longer I live, the more I find we all have these unfortunate things going on in our lives, regardless of what you may see on the surface. Look after yourself first, stay well.
