In what respect ?

There's no mention at all of the fact that it was Scotty Moore's guitar, not Elvis' guitar.

Also, I don't believe it was used during the 1969 Memphis sessions, but I may be wrong.

Well, calling it one of Elvis' guitars is what brings about the large value estimate !

Are we not talking about two different guitars here? I think the one that is being auctioned is the Cherry Red Hagstrom Viking II, not Scotty’s Gibson. As far as I know this was not Elvis’s guitar either, I believe it belong to Al Casey and someone suggested that Elvis should play it as it looked so good.

Could be.

They state that Elvis used it in the '68 Special.

What does "cherry-eyed" mean in the context of that clipping ?

Sorry, but I'm an exotic ferner.

If it's that one, they are correct in not mentioning Scotty Moore.

I think it should read cherry red.

Thank you. Then, it has to be a reference to Al Casey's guitar, not Scotty's.

Anyway, was Casey's guitar used during the 1969 Memphis sessions, as explained in the clipping ? I don't think so.

No, I don’t believe so either, but then this wouldn’t be the first Elvis that contains inaccurate information would it?

Yes, and it's a bit tiresome.

In this case, I wonder what would cause anyone to think that Al Casey, or one of his guitars anyway, would have anything to do with those sessions.

Elvis had a huge crush on a woman born in 1921 ? Now, that's funny.
