Elvisoncd is the place for me sadly, as I'd rather book form than a link that could stop working down the line.

Gordon's a good man wish him well on this latest version.
Keep the FAITH MIKE :!: :!:

I'm a serious collector, but it's not a must for me.
It would be a must if I was prepared to pay £50 for the online access to it, but I'm not.

OK.

Such is the detailed CD information, all serious Elvis collectors would find this 'book' an invaluable asset.

If they were prepared to pay for an 'online only' release...

There truly is SO MUCH to read and enjoy that I am perfectly happy with the online version.
I have been reading it every night and I discover some new insights each time I open the book.
Plus the "search" function makes it a better reference tool for me.

I think if it was a printed book then after thoroughly reading through it once it would stay in my bookshelf, but as it is I can quickly search out the info I need.
Especially if I am away from home & my Elvis library.
There are so many fascinating side articles and other RCA characters I didn't know so much about who influenced everything that has since been put out for us as collectors.
A fascinating and serious read.

Cheers
Piers

and that could be an issue for some.
Wi-fi and data are not always available in some locations, I can attest to that, especially at some record fairs I've visited over the years.
There is of course a plus point to that in that my wife can't contact me either. ;)

Er, no. ;)
Colin, can I ask you check a detail for me please ?
Does the book mention the 'Heart & Soul' US CD release and it's two different versions?
If it's in there do they mention that 'Love Me Tender' was in stereo on the initial release and how it was mono and therefore wrong on the DSD reissue?

It's mainly about UK CD releases.

The US CD does get a couple of passing mentions, but no details:

Ah, I'd been told there are a few US releases mentioned in detail that didn't get a UK release because they were available in the UK on import.
The DSD reissue of Elvis 56 being one of them, I was hoping for Heart and Soul too.
Thanks anyway.

Book Review - 'ELVIS UK3':
This examination of Elvis’ British releases is an incredibly detailed narrative and visual record of his CD releases in the UK from 1983 to 2005. The first Elvis CD, 'The Legend' (3CD), was released in the UK in December 1983. Reflecting the fledgling nature of the format, UK fans had to wait another 12 months until the release of not one, but three, Elvis albums, in December 1984. By that time, the flood gates for the CD medium were starting to strain.
As with the authors’ earlier two volumes on Elvis UK vinyl releases, the information in Elvis UK3 is exhaustive.
To say that Elvis UK3 was well-researched would be a serious understatement. There is so much information in this book that it is difficult to comprehensively review it all. While many collectors will be most interested in the technical details for each entry, the author’s narrative is excellent.
Released using the flipbook format EIN tested Elvis UK3 on four platforms - a 28” computer monitor, 14” tablet, iPad 8 and a 6.5” android mobile phone.
EIN's Nigel Patterson has spent plenty of time reading through this massive work and here presents his in-depth review ...

In fact Heart and Soul is mentioned quite a bit in the book - and the first stereo release of Love Me Tender being part of the book.
Part of the discussion is that 'From The Heart' in 1992 had included 15 of the same tracks.
I have not noticed any comment re difference in the DSD release but the CD is mentioned plenty of times, ie first undubbed release of 'Bridge' etc.
