Sheila Ryan, a girlfriend of Elvis' has passed away at the age of 59 after a battle with cancer. Both Kathy Westmoreland and Larry Geller have confirmed this sad news.

Elvis dated Sheila after he broke up with Linda Thompson. Sheila was the October 1973 Playboy cover girl and married James Caan in '76 (divorced in '77). Elvis and Sheila met each other in Las Vegas. Elvis performed 'And I Love You So' many times during his concerts and dedicated it to Sheila. One of the all-time best out-takes is take 1 of 'And I Love You So', where Elvis says 'step here Sheila let me sing to you baby' just before starting the take. 'So many losses recently in the Elvis world. I remember Sheila very well. She was very pretty, very sweet. My heart goes out to her family and friends' : Larry Geller 'Sadly, just receive the news th.at Sheila Ryan Caan has passed away. You will be missed Sheila' : Kathy Westmoreland.

I don't think any of elvis lady friends/girl friends were gold diggers....they were there for him in his times of need which as we know from reading and hearing stories was almost all the time....i know some of you might say cilla was a gold digger...

Watching the clip i thoght shelia was very hurt and saddened by elvis demise, she seemed frustrated at not being able to help him or him help himself....she did try with changing his drugs to placebos.....i felt for her because i truley think she cared a lot about him.
I thought it was a bit dramatic her snoring one min then having her tonsils out the next ! I would have said not a chance.

I do not think anyone around here is entitled to call any former girlfriend a gold digger. We do not know any details or circumstances and the qualification is very judgemental and disrespectful to both the woman that is subject as well as towards Elvis.

I agree, Elvislady, Sheila did care a lot about Elvis, she really did, she probably did love him to a certain extent, too. It would have been very difficult for her and she wasn't a gold digger from what she said, or she would have listened to her father's request, and stayed.

Sadly, though, Sheila wasn't in love with Elvis, with one thing in particular she said, that is not a woman in love.

It appears that the ladies who are silent, were the ones in love with Elvis. A very sad story, to have let some of them go.

I think sheila wanted more from him, when she realised his situation and how loved to have ladies around him she quickley realised this sort of relationship was not for her, as you might have read one girl would go out the back door and another would come in the front within a short space of time...not somethibg i would have wanted either.
