Followers of the UK charts will be aware that 'Running Up That Hill' by Kate Bush reached No.2 in the UK singles chart last week.

It should have been No.1 !


The reason that it wasn't is that the Official UK Charts Company, who produce the chart, have a rule that

penalises older songs when they are streamed !

It should make No.1 this week because they have decided to

exempt the song from their own silly rule !

I wonder how Elvis would have fared in the official charts if they'd 'exempted' his songs from the rule in the same way !

The UK charts are presenting a warped & distorted view of how things are in the 'real world' by the application of this unfair rule !

Scrap it, I say !
