There are few things on my wishlist
- A Quad mixes box, please NO upgrades, just 4.0 audio. If I'm correct there's 8 albums or so.
- A Mono singles and promo set, so 1.0 audio.
- I kinda remember reading somewhere, a long time ago, that one of the goals was to represent every tour, every Vegas or Tahoe season on FTD. Just from a historical point of view, that might be interesting.

The Quadra releases:

On stage, February 1970 (Japan R4P-5009 December 1971)

That's the way it is (Japan R4P-5029 December 1971)

From Elvis in Memphis (Japan R4P-5005 1972)

Elvis Presley as recorded at Madison Square Gardens (Japan R4P-5032 July 1972)

Aloha from Hawaii (USA VPSX-6089 2-LP-set February 1973)

Recorded live on stage in Memphis (USA APD1-0606 July 1974 / Japan R4P-5071 July 1974)

Promised land (USA APD1-0873 February 1975 / Japan R4P-5078 February 1975)

Today (USA APD1-1039 June 1975 / Japan R4P-5083 June 1975)

So for an FTD box set Ernst Jorgensen & Roger Semon can look for the Japanese master tapes nd do a straigh transfer.
"Aloha from Hawaii" was released in Quadra in the USA and remixed to stereo for the RCA Record Club release. European countries also have the stereo mix.

Sadly.

Just keep EIC under wraps forever, FTD.
Please.

Have you heard the Hampton Roads 1976 FTD?

Let me be more specific: almost all concerts from 1976 or 1977 should be kept under wraps in my opinion.
It always baffles me that the fans of Elvis want often mostly him at his worst years.
Do Sinatra fans also rave and craving for his last concerts while he was not in his best shape.
Probably.
Or fans of Amy Winehouse getting excited about her last concerts while she was barely able to stand up on the stage and was incoherent?
Or even celebrating those last concerts of her?
Probably.
Don't think so.

As I've always said, opinions are meaningless.

I doubt that fans of Amy Winehouse are raving about her last incoherent (and under influences spirited ...some in the audience even booed) concerts on youtube like a lot of Elvis fans are doing it with his last concerts in 1977. I doubt that very much.
Fans of Amy may show compassion, yes, but I doubt very much they are elevating her last catastrophic concerts like a lot of Elvis fans do with his last concerts in 1977.

Maybe. (But maybe not in a niche forum).
But if opinions are meaningless, why keep forums like this running or talk about opinions at all.
Mostly forums like this contain opinions and not at all facts all the time.

They may contain opinions, but to me they are still largely meaningless.

I think this is one of the best forums, but equally, many may not. See what I mean? It doesn't mean a thing except to the opinion holder.

Still. Exchanging opinions do mean a thing.
They do keep a conversation. (Otherwise a forum would be meaningless). And they do mean something to the conversation partner. Otherwise there would be no point exchanging opinions.
So they are not meaningless.
See what I mean?

Well, to be fair, there are some moments during Elvis' 1977 television special where he salvages some fine vocal performances.
As for the effusive praise from some regarding these performances, there's always going to be minority in whose eyes, Elvis can do no wrong.......and I've got to say, there are worse crimes.

I do respect opinions when they come from knowledgeable, often experienced, people. They are very valuable stuff to me.

On the other hand, I believe opinions are meaningless when they come from the guy next door, so to speak. They are usually a waste of time.

And a waste of time if they do come from the boy next door - which are, of course, most here .. save 4 or 5 exceptions.
