There are a lot of Boot CD's on the market with the I WAS THE ONE overdubbed material....but GUITAR MAN was "the real one" (sorry Mister Moon, i have a real soft spot for the GUITAR MAN Album, because it was a "new ELVIS album" in 1981, i've had all the original versions since 1979 but i played the "new versions" to death, oh how i love this record, it sounds fresh, funky and early 80's country... it works till today, yes sir) I WAS THE ONE was nice but the sound overall was and is terrible, and after all, the idea for I WAS THE ONE was not as good as the GUITAR MAN Album concept. ;) Matt

It's one of the coolest on this Album Pacer...but the overall sound is dull on this Vinyl Album...i think they don't have the original tapes so the recording for the overdubs was on a 2nd or 3rd generation copy...i don't know for sure, but if you listen carefully it must be the case. Matt

I only had "baby let's play house"with the overdubbed drums, guitar and bass on a cassette.
Can't find that album on eBay....and also not on YouTube (not even single tracks from that album).
Can somebody help and point me to it...cause I would like to know if the other tracks, that Scott and D.J. overdubbed, were equally good.

I probably played the LP a couple of times when I first got it 35 years ago. Some years ago I copied it to my computer but have never split the tracks up. I've just done that now, so, here are a couple of tracks for you to be going on with....oh, OK, three tracks. I haven't played them through, so haven't checked for any faults or speed, or anything.

Just checked:
On my baby left me I did not heard an overdub at all.
On little sister I did not heard an overdub either.
On baby I don't care a tiny bit of a background choir or maybe a sparse sounding second guitar.anyway, hardly noticeable.
Hmmm....disappointing...cause I didn't heard anything different compared to the regular masters.
Can you please upload baby let's play house?

The way I recall it it did sound massive different because of the drums.

I said a while back that it would be no bad thing for this LP to reissued as part of a "For LP fans Only" FTD release. It's only about half an hour, and is something nobody already owns in complete form on an official CD release. The Eddie Fadal home recordings could also be included, as I don't think they have an official release yet either?

You've more-or-less confirmed my suspicions, Pacer !

If there are drums added on Baby Let's Play House, they are way back in the mix !

There's a tickety-tick sound which is Bill Black's bass from the original...

Colin, in the file of baby let's play house, that John posted (thanks, john), there is a very prominent drum in the foreground.
Don't you hear that?
This is the only of those 4 tracks so far that really sounds different.

To be honest, I don't hear a drum !

Not that my clapped-out old ears can be relied on !

What do others think ?

With all of my respect for you shanebrown and your musically taste...but the Classic RCA Victor FOR LP FANS ONLY ...and the I WAS THE ONE overdubbed Album together--- no way, sorry...let's fill it up with some outtakes (if possible)...an the rest is ELVIS SAILS uncut...how about this?! If it is a single Classic FTD what the heck...it was and it is the coolest ELVIS PRESLEY Album-Cover-Photo 4ever ...and most of all a very superb and cool Album too ;) Respectfully, Matt

Colin?
You joke, right?
It's right thought the whole song.
But also very prominent on certain places (where you only hear the drums as an instrument).....just listen to that lines "You may have a pink Cadillac........(drums setting in) but don't you be nobody's fool......".
That's very obvious....and not the bass clicks from Bill Black.....
Listen please again to that part and tell me what you hear.
I don't think at all that your ears are bad.
Just listen to the part I pointed out.

This is getting embarrassing !

All I hear is the thumping of Bill Black's bass !

And that's always been present [OK, it seems more prominent here] !

I'm fascinated to hear from other members with younger ears than mine !
