I enjoyed it much more.
And if you start out with a more reasonable blu ray for around $5, you might change your mind.
and it's the sound, and since Elvis' movies had so much music in them, that makes it even more appealing.
I would love to get Blue Hawaii on bluray. I think it will look and sound like heaven when it's released.
I am hooked at this point.
These are not hype, these are real upgrades.

I agree 100%
And the VLV Blu-Ray is simply stunning.
The audio on a Blu-Ray in uncompressed, that’s why they sound so much better too.
Ann Margaret’s rear end in those hot pants never looked better either, it’s worth it just for THAT ! ;)

It sort of depends on the subject.

I'm sure they are upgrades, but I'm not spending a few hundred pounds to put these on a shelf. I'm not interested. I doubt that I've seen any Elvis film more than 10 times, and most of them have been seen less than 5. I've got enough to watch without revisiting Elvis films.

It doesn't matter, there's still nothing indecent about it in the normal course of events.

I see your point.
For me, it's given me something new to look forward to.
I have cut back on so much of FTD, and upgraded concerts, and giant books, and
buying blurays is not too much extra.

I’d sooner spend the money on my family. That’s much more precious to me than Elvis.

Well, that's because I just took a picture of the TV screen.

I will take them down.

Even not being sharp the pictures I show is still far above the DVD.

UPDATE: the system says I cannot delete my post. Oh well. I goofed I guess.

You have qualified it, cadillac-elvis, I am glad that you could not take the picture examples down, as I can read the post in its entirety.

All is good.

Well, you didn't posted a nude pic of yourself.
So no need for deleting your screen pics.

Can you do a screenshot of "wild in the country " Blue ray?
The dvd was ok, but pretty limited.
Not bad as paramount, but not as good as the MGM movies.

Thank you, JimmyCool.

I love that first photo of Elvis, I wonder if it gives one a real idea of how he looked in person.

I'm going crazy over here ordering Blurays.

A couple I really want is Flaming star and Follow that dream.

Cannot find for less than $29.99. That's just too much money for old
movies I own already, and have seen lots of times.

So much fun, for you, this is great.

Well, if it gives you pleasure, and affordable in the long run, you should do it.

Flaming Star was the last one I recently acquired, reason being it’s always been too expensive.
There’s only so much I’ll pay again for a movie I already own, even if the DVD quality doesn’t come close.
The price of Flaming Star has been kept artificially high over recent years so as not to compete with the ‘Twilight Time’ 2015 limited edition, but I’m guessing as both were expensive that neither were selling in good quantities.
It’s only recently that the standard 20th Century Fox edition has dropped in price, and that’s why I purchased it at £13.00
Some of the EU blu-rays can now be picked up for around just £10.00 if you’re canny and do some homework first.
‘Change Of Habit’ was another that was expensive until recently, but I found a deal at just under £10.00 including delivery so snapped it up.
I’d really like to see ‘Loving You’ and ‘Blue Hawaii’ on blu-ray, and although ‘Loving You’ was ready to go they hit a publishing issue regarding payments for a song, or songs in the movie. It’s a real shame about that, but if they have to pay more for just one song the payment has to go up for every song in the movie under the terms of the movie music publishing agreement. This is the kind of thing that makes some older projects financially unviable sadly.
