I just wonder how after all these years they found a new sound source.

Perhaps they found a first generation kinescope of this show.

the quality has always been so bad, worse than the Sullivan shows, and they were 4 years earlier.

The best Sound source I am aware of is the ABC acetate that sold at the Graceland auction around a year ago,
I tried to get SONY to purchase it but there appeared to be a lack of interest.

It was a fair bit better than Kevin's acetate though that was an improvement over past sources.

If it is the Graceland ABC acetate then it will be near high fidelity sound if mastered right (EQ is an issue) and a significant step up.

Let's hope so, but we shall see.

Dynamically the new source has much more audio detail and is clearer in depth and frequencies...in my opinion.
