I'll send my friend a message again: the names were written on the demo-acetates.
I know some songwriters have mentioned their names on the demo acetate (sometimes the scene & movie).

Still a question about these demos: Are the names of songwriter(s) on these demos handwritten or typed on the label? Are the demos sent in on Associated Recording Studio – label (see scan) or another label.

In every case where I list a songwriter, If it's not on the acetate then it will be on the sheet music inside the acetate sleeve or both - that corresponds with the recording, there has to be this much clear official evidence for me to list a songwriter. If this much evidence is not present then I will list - unknown.

For me it’s clear with this explanation. I know it works in this way.

Thank you, Colonel, for additional info.
I respect your view, but if it was indeed a fierce competition, we'd have much stronger songs recorded by Elvis or we woulnt'd have the same songs submitted for different movies (Baby, If You'll Give Me & Let Yourself Go springs to mind). Also submitting the same song with differend arrangement is kind of revealing. You mentioned Tender Feelin', I would add It's A Wonderful World (Waltz version) penned for Roustabout.
You know, what's the most exciting part about the demo songs / rejected songs? It's just about as close as we could get anything new from Elvis...
But it's fascinating stuff.
Cheers!

Kiss me crazy (Tepper–Bennett) – the song is not used due to changing the name of the movie into “Never say yes” and later on into “Spinout”. I noticed the scan was posted on the forum many years ago but here it is again.

That can't be the reason why the song was not used, because, Never say yes, was still used and yet the title was changed to
Spinout.

Here's a snippet of an alternate title song for Charro. Enjoy!

It's a pity there's not much known about the song selection for this movie.
