Thanks for the idea of a web-site but that's not my piece of cake. Besides some information I got confidential and this can't be published everywhere.

In addition to the information by Kevan Budd in a previous post
One of the final selections of Take me to the fair on 24 august 1962 (MGM acetate)

Take me to the fair - scene 2480 - rejected version Wise-Weisman??

"Potato Chips, Rocket Ships, Pony Tails and Mono Rails
Folks are just from everywhere
Oh Take Me, Take Me To The Fair
Candy Bars and Trips To Mars
Brand New Worlds and Brand New Girls
Big Space Needle In The Air
Oh Take Me, Take Me To The Fair
There's girls in bikinis walking down the street, little dutch maids are great
Eskimo Cuties and Arapaho beauties
Wow what a great parade
Cowboy Shirts and Hula Skirts
Southern Belles and Mademoiselles, Pretty girls from everywhere
Oh Take Me, Take Me To The Fair

- Short Instrumental break -

Well, Eskimo Cuties and Arapaho Beauties
Wow what a great parade
Cowboy Shirts and Hula Skirts
Southern Belles and Mademoiselles
Take Me, Take Me To The Fair
Take Me, Take Me To The Fair."

This demo of Take me to the fair, plus Cotton candy land (Cotton candy land, being a Ruth Batchelor, Bob Roberts, song) are perhaps
P.J. Proby (born - James Marcus Smith) performed demo's and they are certainly the same demo singer on both tracks,
P.J. mostly did demos for Ben Weisman and also Ruth Batchelor, though certainly not all of their penned tracks.

As mentioned Weisman with Wise, had at least two other versions (this is why I suggested at least two) submitted and this could be the third and being in my view the strongest track submitted overall I assumed it would be the weisman/Wise song Elvis liked the most that you listed, though it could possibly be a Ruth Batchelor song if we follow this (demo singer) line of thought, with one of the two Wise/Weisman tracks I mentioned being the one which Elvis liked.

Need to dig deeper.

Kevan Budd.

Thanks again Kevan it's a pity a lot of information is lost through the years.
I'll add an excerpt of Take me to the fair from MGM acetate dated 24 august 1962.

As suggested in a previous post about more information about song selection for a recording session or movie it gives a lot of “problems” because the information is not available / not complete.

An example for Girl happy - Live a little love a litlle and a few others.

With 'page' you mean a page on the web, so a website or blog?
I meant a page that one could print out and that could be updated, but equally, a page on the web. However, it could follow the format of Graham's photo section which has photos by year by month.
Yes. That would be ideal, I think. Especially if a physical book is not something colonel snow believes in.

Over the years, I have seen thousands of posts by colonel snow on the specialized subjects he loves so much, spread over what, 7 or 8 (?) Internet forums? I hate to say it, but (eventually) all the knowledge and images shared will sink into the dark emptiness of the web. That is a terrible waste of time and talent, even more so since Kevan has been adding his knowledge to colonel snow's posts here on Phoenix. A book, and also a website, will remain forever.

Why not do something similar to what Keith has been doing for years? I believe that a website that is structured similar to Keith's will be a good choice. And have a good working search function, so that people can search by date or title or writer, etc.

With regard to a book like this only being of interest to a happy few (colonel snow's words), I can tell you that it's much more rewarding to invest your time in the happy few than to produce the millionth photo book that will only be bought by people who buy everything anyway, only for these photo books to end up on a shelf collecting dust. Seriously, the happy few is a way more thankful bunch! And even more important, colonel snow's work will live on forever.

It's a pity that when recording the god awful "Datin'" in between takes Elvis' mind drifted off (who could blame him with singing such shit) to a one liner of Billy Lee Riley's "Flyin' Saucer Rock'n'Roll". Another missed opportunity, or wished he'd carried on. :) Though not planned as what this topics about but still interesting, though i doubt he would have topped Riley's.

You see, Elvis' mind was never far from Sun Records throughout his career recording for RCA.

I recently found a recording from Don't knock it by Joey Castle; it's taken from a Bear Family release.

From an old post on P.J. Proby forum:

As we know, P.J. Proby did the demos for the Elvis Movies from Kid till he went to the UK in May 1964. He did all the demos for Ruth Batchelor and Ben Weisman.
This gives us the following list:
Kid Galahad (±October 1961):
King Of The Whole Wide World (Ruth Batchelor)
This is Living (Ben Weisman)
Riding The Rainbow (Ben Weisman)
I Got Lucky (Ben Weisman)

Girls, Girls, Girls (±March 1962):
Because Of Love (Ruth Batchelor)
Thanks To The Rolling Sea (Ruth Batchelor)

It Happened At The World’s Fair (±September 1962):
Happy Ending (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)

Fun In Acapulco (±January 1963):
Fun In Acapulco (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)
Slowly But Surely (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)

Kissin Cousins (±October 1963):
(outtake: Echo’s of Love - Ruth Bachelor)

Viva Las Vegas (±July 1963):

Roustabout (±February 1964):
It’s Carnaval Time (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)

Girl Happy (±March1964):
Girl Happy (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)
Cross My Heart And Hope To Die (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)
Do The Clam (Ben Weisman/Sid Wayne)

If we just take a look at Kid Galahad movie demo's, as Listed above.
We find the proposed list is very inaccurate.

P.J. Proby (born - James Marcus Smith) certainly does not appear on the following demos -

King Of The Whole Wide World (Ruth Batchelor)
This is Living (Ben Weisman)
Riding The Rainbow (Ben Weisman)

I have no idea about -
I Got Lucky (Ben Weisman).
