I thought the so called experts on the other forum claimed this is a fake. So did David English make a mistake?

Looks real enough to me.

I can't see what's fake about it. It's just a promo video of the upcoming book.

Oh, sorry I thought it was referring to the video.

And yes I do "get it". And no it's not a fake.

On CD Silver screen treasures vol. 1 Classy chassis was wrong labeled for Spinout.

I'm curious about information about other rejected songs like the song "What a day". The demo version was written by Don Robertson for this movie Viva Las Vegas but it was rejected. His own recording (recorded may 1963) was released in november 1963 on RCA 47-8269.

We should hear it. A pretty little ballad, Elvis could have done a nice job, but it's nothing special.

It's good "What a day" was rejected in the pre-selection. It's not one of the best songs by Don Robertson in my opinion.

I still have another rejected song in the pre-selection of songs: Lucky in Las Vegas.

Other rejected songs for the movie Viva Las Vegas released on CD Silver screen treasures 1962/65 vol. 2 CD 5
Don’t fool a fool in love (unused demo)
Sweet dreams baby (unused demo)
This way to paradise (unused demo)

I don’t know if these songs were selected for this movie. Maybe there’s news about it in this new book.
I’ve noticed on this CD 5 a few tracks coupled to the wrong movie like You can’t hate me for that (mentioned for Roustabout but is really pre-selected for Easy come easy go according to paperwork).
Mentioned earlier in this topic “Classy chassis” is wrong mentioned for Spinout on this CD 5 but according to information from Margaret Herrick Library it was selected for Viva Las Vegas.
It’s outside this topic to mention all errors from Silver screen treasures 1962/65 CD 5. Inpsite errors it’s for me still a great release.

Another rejected demo version is: Beat the bongo. We know the song with different lyrics as Do the Vega.

According to a re-written page 38A scene 106X4 from the script dated 12 june 1963 a song “The vega” was mentioned by the writer of the script. This explains the “problem” to select the right song for this scene. See previous post with Beat the bongo. Finally selected Do the vega (Giant-Baum-Kaye) but later on replaced by What ‘d I say..

Yeah the guy was auctioning his acetate collection off a couple years ago so he only uploaded samples unfortunately.
