This reminds me of that exhibit at Graceland where they used the photo of a Buddy Holly impersonator :

Some people just have no clue. Simple as that. But they shouldn't be in a position where they could spread their ignorance.

I mean, really.....not getting the artist right.
I am not a buddy holly fan or expert but I surely would see a pic of an impersonator.
Think about it.....if the makers of Mount Rushmore would have shaped an impersonator of Lincoln in the monument.

Agreed.
But they don't know what it is that they don't know.

They are ignorant about what it is they are ignorant about.

It's almost as if they've used the Shawn Klush pic but added an Elvis face to it...

… then blurred things to make it less noticeable.

It's also alarmng that sometimes there doesn't seem to be quality control, so to speak. I mean, everybody can make a mistake, that goes without saying, but somebody should notice them before they hit the street.

There was once somebody here at "Phoenix" who was plugging a photo book, and he got mad at me just because I told him there were two reversed pics in the front cover.

Ha! Sneaky!

All we know at this point is that the book cover has an impersonator photo on the cover. Which is an odd decision. What we don’t know for sure yet, is whether the book contains correct info on that photo or not, whether it explains why they chose to put that photo on the cover, etc. Oh well. Never mind. Shoot the d*** book.

Good thinking and outlook, Sus.

The impersonator's leg gave him away to me at first glance, as his leg was sticking out and obvious, his "length of leg" looks like he, in height, is around 5'2".

Update from EIN

Elvis Through the Ages" Publishers Apologise: Thankfully the publishers of the new book "Elvis Through the Ages: Images from the Hollywood Photo Archive" (by Colin Slater) have realised the error of their ways. The publicist from Lyons Press finally responded to EIN's letters noting that having an Impersonator on the cover of a book about ELVIS was a huge mistake.

He told EIN, "Lyons Press Editorial staff are aware of your complain. While the photo in question was meant to be that of an impersonator, to alleviate any confusion the editors have elected to replace it. Please rest assured that when the book publishes this September, it will have a photo of the real Elvis on it. Once the new cover is completed, it will be uploaded to our database, from which it will feed out to all online retailers. Thank you again for your time."

The Hollywood Photo Archive is not only a wonderful collection of cinematic history, it captures the collective memories of Hollywood. The gunmen, the gallants, the ghosts and the stars of the big screen are represented in an impressive archive of more than 180,000 pieces.
The book is hardcover and 144 pages and A4 size. Publisher Lyons Press - out September 25, 2019- Priced $24.95

See, we rushed to judgement, didn't we ?

They aren't so stupid after all !

They meant it to be an impersonator !

To avoid confusing all the dim-witted Elvis fans, who couldn't grasp that, they've 'elected to replace it' !

Their generosity is unbounded...

New Elvis Book Question

by The Swamp Fox
Just wondering if anyone knows if this book's release date has been postponed? It was listed on Amazon to be released on September 5. I went on there to order on the 5th and it showed "out of stock" with a 1-3 month delivery time. There are copies for sale on Ebay, but the sellers appear to be "drop shippers" with quite a bit of negative feedback, so they may not even have it to sell.

Sorry, I can't answer your query, but it looks like they have corrected the unbelievable front cover mistake. That's good. ;)

I honestly thought no one was gonna notice that "unbelievable front cover mistake" and still go ahead with it. And even if they did notice it "what the hell, just print it" attitude. It has been known.
