I reckon your estimate of the worth of your collection is optimistic.

I offered 2200 CD's (non-Elvis) CD"s for sale to a record shop that also buys & sells CD's. What I could get for it? € 120,00 (GBP 100,00).
I sold my Elvis LP's and books at low prices and only when someone who just started collecting bought whatever I still had I sold about 100 LP's plus dozens of Elvis books for € 600,00.
I am still stuck with circa 5.000 LP's (all non-Elvis), circa 5.000 CD's (including a lot of Elvis) and a lot of music DVD's including all of Elvis' movies, TV shows and rare footage.
Just earlier this week a wellknown TV star was asked about selling his collection since he is now 75 years old and he said he would not bother as he asked a shop and was told they'd pay at the most € 0,50 per CD. This guy each year travels to the USA and has quite a unique collection.

If I could get what I paid for my thousands of Elvis items (CDs, LPs, books, and movies) I'd take it in a flash. The fact is most Elvis items will sell well below cost, if they sell at all. There are exceptions, but in the main Elvis being one of the biggest seller artists in history is not going to demand a premium on most items.

Correct, there is simply too much out there.

I recently sold on facebook, golden celebration set, a few bootlegs cd's....some legacy and RCA cd's (10), a dvd, some magazines, a book,
and all it sold for $20.

No I don't, just going on the understanding that selling stuff on as second hand usually means only getting a fraction of the price paid originally.

.

True, unless you are Sheriff Hanna and owning Elvis 'jumpsuits etc. (Which only will go up in the prices) CD's and most mass products you can only sell at a fraction of the price that you bought it.
The thought of buying 2 FTDs and later sell one with a profit so you can actually buy your kept copy for less or nothing because of selling the spare copy is really nice, but for me selling seems like a hassle so I don't do it.
What happens after my death is not a concern for me concerning Elvis.
I am just 50, comparatively young - although I have and had two life threatening health scares in the last 12 months (colon cancer last year, cut out and no problem - but in july of this year they found a 15 cm x 12 cm huge liver metastase in my body, which is a problem) ....I never really thought about my collection although over the years I paid several thousands for it also, but not the amount others paid or said so far.
And I would be under no illusion to get only pennies for a dollar, so no point of selling, also not on my mind because of selling is a hassle for me,

Anyway, if somebody watch Elvis items on ebay (not rare FTD combis).....watch and weep.
I don't weep, cause I don't sell.
